It's interesting how different it is taking kids to a family ward vs an elderly ward (Mom's ward). I feel like if the girls make a noise here or there, no big deal. Sure, the retired-types in Mom's ward enjoy the cute kids, but I'm sure they cringe when the kids are making noise and bumping the back of their pew. So, I feel so much more comfortable in this new ward.
It's also interesting what I get out of Sacrament Meeting now, trying to keep the girls in check vs what I got out of Sacrament Meeting when I was single. It's a whole new thing for me to not have my complete attention on the speakers and their message. But I still take home some sort of message about the day's goings-on. My real learning experience each Sunday is to try to teach my girls about the sacrament and about being reverent during prayers, etc. "The bread means that we love Jesus." "The water means that we love Jesus." How simple, and how profound. That's what it's really all about, I guess. I've always loved Jesus, but I've not been so great at showing it.
Now, we just need to get Daddy up and ready to go to church with us one of these Sundays. Any encouragement for either of us would be helpful!!
Oh, and check out 9thWardCartoons.com because it's pretty cool!
Yay! That ward has the most awesome nursery leaders - or at least it did when we were there. Sacrament is a circus for a while - but the girls will catch on quickly!
