It's a Twin Thing!

So, I recently threw a surprise baby shower for a long-time friend who is having twin girls in a few weeks. It was alot of planning and organizing and keeping secrets and I had a blast! I got alot of help and everyone contributed. I think all the ladies that came had fun.

I've never get into baby showers and bridal showers and all that girly junk. But this time it was different. Misty and I have worked together for almost 8 years. Annalee, Misty and I were the "Three Musketeers" in the pre-marriage days. We were usually together, hanging out all the time, going to the movies, Denny's South, and getting into general mischief. We'd go hot-tubbing at Kyle's complex when Misty and Kyle first dated. The three of us watched Tyler's suspiciously scratched copy of Office Space over at Kyle's on his HUGE bachelor sized television after a swing shift one night. We'd all get off shift and go run-amuck. Good times!

So, I guess it was quite odd for people to see me going all out for a friend for a girly baby shower. But being a M.O.M. is such a different experience. I had such great support during my pregnancy and I want to be a great support for Misty. We've been good friends for a long time and having that twin link just draws people closer.

Everyone knows that having a baby is a special experience. Having two at once is also a special experience, but it's more than that...

So, when someone asked me, knowing how extremely non-girly I am, "Why are you doing this?" I had to answer with the only way I could explain it: It's a Twin Thing!
