Update on the new house...

I am totally in love with this place. It's such a change to go from a tri-level cramped house in a home owners association, to a single story home with a huge backyard and TWO garages. Once we get things a little more in place, I'll post some pics.

I've got a next door neighbor who's a police officer, about 4 houses the other way is another officer, and a dispatcher I work with lives on the same street as us too. A few streets up is a third officer. And there are a few more in the ward boundaries. It's a little public safety neighborhood.

I really don't mind the drive to Hurricane. It's really only 6 miles on the freeway, and then 5 miles from the freeway to our house. Ryan and I feel silly about saying things like, "I'm going into town." But we're pretty spoiled to live just a few blocks from the new Walmart.

Living in Hurricane just takes a little more planning before leaving home. Making sure I've got a diaper bag and snacks. Weighing my options on work days like: if I have an errand to run in St George, should I just bring my work uniform with me and stay in town or is it worth the gas/time to make two trips?

The girls love the house, they love the yard, they love their room. Ryan and I are still unpacking boxes, searching for things in the messy garage (where we unloaded the extra stuff that needs to be sorted), and getting settled.

We took our appliances with us - the rental house has nice appliances, but ours are kick-butt! So, we finally got the space saver microwave installed today. Now all that's left is the dishwasher. All the rental appliances are being kept in the 2nd garage (RV size) so they'll be there in case we EVER move.....which I'm doubting. I really do love it!

I think I might have to ask for a lease option!!
