We've been trying to modify our home loan. It's amazing how banks don't want to help the people who could truly use the help. So, we've made a big decision and have put the house up as a Short Sale and cut our losses and don't *want* to stay there forever. We owe $128k and the listing agent said the bank would be lucky to get fair market value of $79k. Craaaaazy!
I've been doing research and we can rent a bigger nicer house for almost $200 less than we were paying for our mortgage and HOA dues.
So, we're moving.

After stressing for a few weeks, going to CraigsList to find rental houses that will accept pets (who could leave Ginger!?!), calling several phone numbers, sending numerous emails to find out more info on listings, and going to view a few places, we made up our minds.
I had kinda decided to have us move to area 6, I mean - over by the mall. There was a very clean rental with a backyard that would accept pets with an additional $400 pet deposit (totally understandable) and tacking on an extra $50 a month for a pet - non refundable. Uh. Okay...
That house was very small with small rooms, but clean and it had a nice backyard for the girls. It would work, but not if we wanted to have another kid anytime soon. I almost, almost ALMOST put a deposit on it. I thought I'd better mull it over for a day or so.
Ryan and I even joked that Ginger isn't the one needing the extra deposit. They should have us give them a "Twins Deposit" - Proof? Ryan was at the shop. I gave the girls small cups of yogurt to eat while I got a quick shower. I came up the stairs and the carpet was painted Strawberry Banana.... Sigh.
So, in venting all my stresses, I was talking to Ora at dispatch and she said her grandparents' house was available for rent. She'd lived there before and told me about it at the time - it sounded like a great little family house with an awesome garden. The only downside is it's in Hurricane - but it's not waaaaaay into Hurricane. So, I talked to Ryan about it. He was open to the idea so we went to see it. It's a great little house, and honestly, I wouldn't mind buying it in a few years. And the nice people at WalMart even built a new Super WalMart just a few blocks down so I could feel right at home!
Anyway. So our moving adventure begins... Wish us luck. And once we get settled, come on over!
