Our Story: Getting Married

We drove to the Sweethearts Chapel on the Strip. I was nervous and so was Ryan. Had I found out that the chapel was in a small, four business strip mall that included a jamaican restaurant, a porn shop, this wedding chapel/bridal boutique and a magazine store, I would have never booked there. Oh holy cow! That's what I get for paying $125.00 I guess.

Heidi met us there and we started the ceremony. I was trying to listen to the minister's words, but I was standing there, getting married - and not just married - I had ELOPED! I just couldn't concentrate. So many things were running through my head. I was going to be a married woman. Wow.

During the ceremony, when we exchange rings, we realized that the minister had switched our rings, so mine wouldn't fit on Ryan's hand and vice versa. Ryan looked at me with panic in his eyes. I whispered, "It's okay" and he calmed down. Everything was okay because we were together.

After the ceremony, we took a bunch of pictures and then went to have drinks at the Hard Rock Cafe. I had never been there. We walked in and sat down. We were newlyweds. Life was just beginning.

We made it back to the room and my phone rang. It was Tyler. I decided to let it go to voice mail. The message started, "You're probably having sex right now...."

I'll never tell. Wink!
